What identification do I need to bring with me?

When hiring a unit, Storage Factory requires two forms of identification and at least one of these must be photo ID such as a Passport, Driving licence or ID card. We will also require a recent utility bill, bank statement or other official correspondence dated within the last three months this is for proof of address. If you are unable to provide the required ID please contact Storage Factory directly. Uniform personnel will also need to bring the relevant ID to benefit from the 10% discount.

How long can I store my belongings?

The minimum storage period is 1 week, there is no maximum storage period as it's a rolling contract until you need it.

Do I need to give notice to cancel my contract?

You can cancel your contract by providing one weeks' notice, notice can be given by email, by letter or by telephone using the details below. Please include your name, unit number and cancellation date when giving notice.

Do I need Insurance?

We like the customer to have their goods covered by an insurance, this can be done with us at a very good rate or the customer can insure it themselves through their home insurance or through an independent storage insurer. If you do we just need to have a copy of the policy to put with your contract.

How can I pay?

The first month's rent is general cash or card and then for future months its set up by Direct Debit.

Is the storage secure?

Yes, all customers have their very own entry code which gives you access and keys for their unit(s). The site also has CCTV in place and can be monitored remotely.

When can I access my units?

Customers have 24/7, 365 days of the year access. Yes, that's right, you can even come in Christmas Day!

Are the units dry?

If you put your goods in dry they will be fine. We have our smaller units 6ft, 8ft and 10ft units being sprayed with an anti-condensation paint as this is the most common question, so we have done this to put people's minds at ease.

Can I upgrade or downgrade units?

Yes, it's very easy to do this if you downgrade then you will get the difference back from any rental owing and the deposit and same with the upgrade but you would just pay us the difference. Transfers must be made on the day but we understand it can take time so we can give you a day or so to finish.

Are the units locked?

Exeter – The 6ft, 8ft, 16ft and 10ft units are keyed doors and the 20fts units are padlocked which we supply you free of charge you just return when you vacate. Salisbury – All doors are padlocked you can purchase one at reception if needed.

What facilities are on site?

We do have a toilet on site for our customers, a general waste bin and cardboard bin and we also have a trolley area so you can load up and get the unit filled quicker without having to carry each item one by one.

Is there parking available?

We do have a car park but this is not for long term, unless agreed with the manager of the Storage Factory.

Can I have deliveries to my unit?

We do accept deliveries but anything on a big scale i.e. pallet deliveries on a daily bases we may have to see about a small charge.
